Journey Into the Byzantine Faith with Fr. Andrew Summerson | Ep. 96
More from Purposely CatholicAbout this episode
If you’ve mostly known Catholic worship through the Latin tradition, the Byzantine Church may raise questions you haven’t had occasion to ask. Fr. Andrew Summerson joins Purposely Catholic to talk about the Byzantine Rite and its place within the Catholic Church. He also shares his journey to the priesthood and what led him to serve through the Eastern Catholic tradition.
We consider Byzantine liturgy, the place of the Psalms, and how worship shapes a life. The conversation includes differences between Eastern and Western worship, diversity of expression, and the question of where to begin if you want to explore the Byzantine Church.
